Former DOJ appeals attorney launches post-trial and appellate law firm

Pennsylvania-based appeals attorney Jonathan R. “Jon” Bruno has launched a new appellate law firm, Bruno Litigation LLC.  The firm began operating earlier this month, shortly after Bruno completed his service as an appellate federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh.

“I founded this firm to offer the very best in post-trial and appellate representation—always with a down-to-earth, collaborative approach,” Bruno said.  “My passion is helping trial lawyers achieve their goals.”

In addition to appellate litigation, the firm will offer consulting services and legal research and writing services to trial lawyers facing complex issues, dispositive motions, post-trial motions, and related challenges.

Jon Bruno is an appellate lawyer who has successfully litigated dozens of appeals in state and federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.  Before his service as an Assistant United States Attorney, Jon practiced with a distinguished litigation boutique in Pittsburgh.  He clerked for the Honorable D. Michael Fisher of the Third Circuit.

Earlier in his career, Jon taught legal research and writing at Harvard Law School and was an assistant professor at the University of Michigan Law School.  He earned his JD and PhD from Harvard.  Read more about Jon’s professional background.

“I’m excited for what the future holds,” Bruno remarked.  “There’s a great need for high-quality appellate representation, and my firm is proud to help fill that need for trial lawyers and their clients in Pennsylvania and beyond.”
